We have finally decided to get dining plan, but now we can't decide which plan fits us best.We really prefer to eat the quick meals most of the time, but we might want a table service or 2. Also we are traveling with a 2 yr old who will share w/ us. Advice?

    Hello, Amy!

There are many great options from which to choose now, with five Disney Dining Plans available, so really thinking of how your family plans to dine is a great first step in deciding which is best for you. Be sure to check out the five PDFs detailing the various Disney Dining Plans that are available to Guests of select Walt Disney World hotels.

The Quick-Service Dining Plan entitles each person in your party (over age 2) to two Quick-Service meals plus one snack per night of stay. (Each of the Dining Plans also includes a resort-refillable mug too.) If your family prefers Quick-Service, then this might be the best option. You can always book the one or two Table-Service reservations you have in mind and pay cash for them.

On the other hand, I notice from your other question that you'll be staying six days in Walt Disney World. If one of your Table-Service meals is at a Signature Restaurant, such as Fairytale Dining at Cinderella's Royal Table, which then requires two Table-Service entitlements, the Dining Plan might help you to budget for the additional expense.

I suggest that you look at the difference in cost between these two, then take the total amount you'd expect to spend at your one or two Table-Service meals and add it to the cost of the Quick-Service Dining Plan. This will give you a better estimate of the difference in cost for your upcoming vacation.  By the way, most menus are now available on disneyworld.com, so you can get a better idea of the cost of your meal based on the items you'll order. Keep in mind that tax is included in the Dining Plan, but gratuities are not.

I hope this helps you make your choice! Please send as many additional questions as you can think of about these options, or any other questions you may have as you think of them! I'd love to help!
