I finally convinced my husband to visit WDW this summer and he enjoyed it, but hates the bus. He seems excited to go back but wants to avoid the bus if at all possible. Which resorts offer other transportation and to where? boat? tram? to which parks?

I'm glad to hear that your hubby enjoyed WDW. (I want to like the buses and I always give them a try. But, really, they just aren't for me.)

The resorts that I find extremely convenient are the ones near Epcot. The Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk are within walking distance to 2 parks! Yes, you can actually walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. And if your feet need a rest, you can take a boat instead.

Access to Epcot is through the International Gateway in World Showcase. Not only is this a convenient entrance to Epcot, it is also a beautiful and pleasant walk. Imagine taking a leisurely stroll back to your hotel after watching Illuminations. It's delightful!

The boat ride to Hollywood Studios is relaxing. While the boat stops at the Dolphin and  Swan resorts, it is a nice way to travel when you want to avoid any further walking.

One evening we took the bus to the Magic Kingdom from the Beach Club, left the park at 7 p.m (it was in the winter) and traveled to Epcot via the monorail. We arrived to a short line at Test Track, walked on to Spaceship Earth, got a snack and then took the pleasant stroll to our hotel via the International Gateway.

Note that you would still need to take the bus from the Epcot resorts to Animal Kingdom. And while you can access the Magic Kingdom via the monorail at the front of Epcot, it would require a lot of walking to do this every time that you went to the MK.

The only way to avoid the bus system completely is to drive your own car (which we've done many times) or arrive by plane and rent a car (also a big fan of this option).

The reason the bus system doesn't work for my family is because we never know when the bus will arrive. If there was a schedule that took the "wait and see" out of the equation, then my family would probably enjoy this mode of transportation a bit more.

Consider the Epcot resorts. It's all about the location! Plus they offer wonderful amenities!
