Hi, Robert!
I’m happy to hear you and your fiancée are planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort! My top pick for a quiet meal is Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park, which has a romantic 1930s Hollywood atmosphere. It’s inside the park’s reproduction of Carthay Circle Theatre, where Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered. Much of the luxurious restaurant’s décor pays homage to the film and Walt himself!
For a unique dining experience in Disneyland Park, try Blue Bayou. The restaurant is located right in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, so I like to request a table near the water upon arrival. Don’t forget to wave to Guests floating by in boats headed to the pirate-filled waters as you sip on the signature drink of New Orleans Square, the Mint Julep!
My favorite character dining location (similar to Chef Mickey’s, where you got engaged) is Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. In addition to buffet-style breakfast food, Goofy’s Kitchen also offers brunch items, a variety of desserts and a soft serve sundae bar, plus several character meet and greet opportunities.
All of the table-service restaurants accept reservations, which can be made up to 60 days in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463). Although not required, I do recommend making reservations. You can use the dining plan vouchers at any of these restaurants, but keep in mind that if your meal costs less than the voucher value, you won’t receive any change back. If you happen to have a Disneyland Resort or Premier Annual Passport, you can receive a discount on almost every meal.
I hope this helps, Robert, and that you enjoy a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
