My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon Dec 21st- Dec 31st of 2019. I keep reading about how crowded everything is. I wanted to know what your best tips are for avoiding crowds and how we can enjoy our time. (Not going to parks on 24th & 25th)

    Hi Meredith,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! What an amazing honeymoon you have planned!

Many years ago, my husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort and it was simply magical. To manage the crowds during the holiday season, do exactly what you are doing now - plan! Make advanced dining reservations for as many meals as you can. Be sure to make those reservations 180 days in advance if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. As a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guest, you can also make Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance of your trip. Make three Fast Pass+ selections for each day that you have valid theme park admission. Then, once you have used those Fast Pass+ selections and/or the time windows have expired, use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to add another Fast Pass+.

We always find magic dining while watching the fireworks. Be sure to make plans to see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. I suggest that you make a dining reservation at California Grill for a time about 30 minutes prior to the fireworks show. Then, arrive for your reservation at least 20 minutes in advance. Another dining alternative might be 'Ohana. We adore 'Ohana but the California Grill experience feels more romantic to us.

Meredith, also consider doing a few pre-park opening dining reservations. If you make these on days when the parks do not have early morning Extra Magic Hours, the parks should be less crowded as you make your way to the restaurant. We love Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and Be Our Guest Restaurant for breakfast.

Wishing you the most perfect wedding day and a honeymoon sprinkled with pixie dust and love!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
