My fiancé and I are planning a Disney honeymoon and my cousin, a Florida resident, has offered to pay for our hotel accommodations. Can she use the Florida resident discount since she is the one paying or does she have to stay at the resort as well?

    Hi Jean!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! You will love celebrating your honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Regardless of who's paying for the room, the only way to gain access to Florida Resident Discounts is if the Florida resident is listed on the room reservation and present at check-in. The same can be said for Tickets & Passes for Florida Residents. In order to take advantage of the discounts, the Florida resident must be present, with an ID, at the Disney Theme Parks & Water Parks turnstiles. Having said that, I invite you to browse through the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons website. In addition, keep an eye on the Special Offers and Magic Your Way Vacation Packages for any discounts that may be applicable during your visit. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Enjoy a most magical honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort!
