My fiancé and I have just booked our honeymoon is Walt Disney World! Any suggestions for fun and romantic things to do to make it extra magical?

  • Hi, Hayley! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

First, congratulations on finding your Prince Charming! Walt Disney World Resort is where my husband and I honeymooned, too! Depending on whether this is your first vacation to Walt Disney World Resort, or you’ve been numerous times (and plan to return), my answer may vary! If you want to experience many attractions, which I find romantic in their own way, you will find that you have less time for those magical extras, such as spa treatments, horse-drawn carriage rides, and more!

Speaking of magical extras, I suggest taking a look at the Enchanting Extras Collection, which includes special Tours, and options for Special Occasions. Over at Disney Honeymoon’s, you will find the Enchanted Evening Honeymoon Option, which is only available for a limited time. The Enchanted Evening experience is available for travel booked by December 19, 2018 and completed by December 31, 2018 and includes:

    -2 limited-edition honeymoon-themed MagicBands
    -2 limited-edition honeymoon-themed luggage tags
-2 admissions to the "Happily Ever After" Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing

One fond memory that I cherish of my honeymoon is our dinner at California Grill overlooking Cinderella Castle, where we were able to watch the fireworks from our table! I definitely recommend a few “adult” meals during your honeymoon where you can dress up a little and enjoy some great cuisine. Remember that you can make your Advanced Dining Reservations up to 180 days in advance.

Please come see us again soon and/or speak with a Honeymoon Advisor by calling 321-939-4610. Enjoy your “Happily Ever After”,

    Hi Hayley,

How exciting to know you will be celebrating your honeymoon at the Most Magical place on Earth! Let me help you with some tips.

Bringing back all those memories is an absolute must. Take advantage of the awesome photographers of Disney PhotoPass Service to capture every magical moment, and then with Memory Maker, you will have access to digital downloads of all those pictures and videos, including those from select attractions. And to take a break from shopping at Disney Springs, stop by Disney PhotoPass Service Studio for some unique shots featuring virtual back drops.

One last tip: you should also look at booking a private session with Disney Fine Art Photography. You can schedule a session by calling them at (407) 934-4004. Happy planning!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Hayley!

We are excited to help you create magical memories for your honeymoon!

After months planning the perfect wedding, I believe indulging in spa treatments is the perfect way to pamper newlyweds. Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian would definitely be my first stop to start the perfect honeymoon. They offer amazing therapies that will prepare you and your husband for the fun days ahead. I highly recommend their Massage for Two, where the couple can enjoy a relaxing massage together.

No honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort is complete without a romantic dinner, and no dining location can beat the classic Victorian elegance and haute cuisine of Victoria & Albert’s. Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this award-winning restaurant is perfect for Guests looking for the ultimate signature dining experience accompanied by a world-class wine collection.

Finally, how about celebrating love and happiness while watching breathtaking fireworks during a nighttime cruise? During a Fireworks Cruise you and your husband can experience amazing fireworks from the comfort of a chartered boat. The cruise is accompanied by a captain and comes with assorted snacks and soft drinks, but you can make it even more special by adding a Private Dining menu. I recommend this Fireworks Cruise to experience IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. The torches around Epcot World Showcase are absolutely stunning and will add to the romantic atmosphere.

Thank you for sending your question our way, Hayley. I hope this helps you plan the perfect honeymoon!

    Best magical wishes,

    Hi Hayley,

There is certainly lots of romance in the air, as my fellow panelists have already come up with some terrific suggestions for you. Let me try to add a few more...

One of my favorite things to do with a special someone at Walt Disney World is to stake out a private spot on the sandy beach in front of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort just before the nightly Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Believe it or not, I actually prefer watching fireworks exploding over Cinderella Castle from this location more than anywhere else, especially while cuddled up with someone special.

There are also plenty of opportunities for romance and magical moments with your love while touring the Disney Theme Parks and Water Parks. Try taking a relaxing spin on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover curled up beside your Prince Charming. You may even have time for a quick private smooch during the dark parts of the ride!

Floating with your love on inner tubes as you navigate the lazy river at Castaway Creek at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is also a most enjoyable way to kick back, relax and enjoy some quality downtime together.

Taking a moonlit stroll late at night around many of the beautiful Walt Disney World Resorts, including the secluded pathways around Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, as well as the area surrounding Disney's BoardWalk and Crescent Lake, can also be very romantic.

Cap off your evening with a romantic nightcap at one of the cozy bars and lounges, such as my personal favorite, Victoria Falls Lounge at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.

In short Hayley, there are plenty of opportunities for romance awaiting you at The Most Magical Place on Earth. I have no doubt you and your fiance will have a wonderful time celebrating the start of your Happily Ever After!

    Best Wishes,

    Greetings Hayley!

There are many fun and romantic things to do at Walt Disney World during your honeymoon and I'm thrilled that you've stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel for suggestions. For laughs & fun, I would suggest the following adventures:

*Go on a thrill-ride mission with your groom and make it a point to capture sweet moments on camera during those wild, exhilarating seconds! Nothing spells love more than a smooch on camera when you're plunging down a 5-story waterfall on Splash Mountain or hugging tight on a Twilight Zone Tower of Terror elevator that's dropping into a new dimension of sight and sound! Other attractions that take pictures of guests while riding, include: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Test Track at Epcot, among others.

*Visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge, enjoy a wine flight at the Victoria Falls Lounge and make sure to hire a sketch artist to do a caricature of you and your hubby. Those always turn out great and make for fun conversation-starters, whether you choose to hang your picture at home or in your office, the memory of your honeymoon adventures will always be present!

    For romantic memories, I suggest:

*Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Resort. If you purchase a Category One ticket, you'll be sitting close to the stage where you can enjoy fantastic performances and great food & drinks with your Prince Charming. Most importantly, there will be a point during the show where couples celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary get an opportunity to express their affection with a romantic slow dance... it's Magical!

*The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace inside Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, there's simply no better way to end a Magical experience than with sweet treats and an incredible nighttime spectacular. It's truly a moment where mouthwatering meets breathtaking!

    Enjoy your Happily Ever After!

    Hi Hayley,

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! A little over twenty-two years ago, my husband and I honeymooned at the Walt Disney World Resort. With the Power of Magic the Disney Parks have to offer, your honeymoon will be truly memorable.

My fellow panelists have already provided some beautiful ideas for celebrating a fabulously romantic honeymoon. I'd love for you both to experience the most coveted attraction at Pandora – The World of Avatar. I suggest you secure FastPass+ reservations for Avatar Flight of Passage as soon as possible. It is by far, THE MOST amazing ride ever! You and your husband will undertake an incredible Na'vi rite of passage called Iknimaya. This means you will each be flying on the back of powerful animals called Ikrans; which are more commonly known to us humans as Banshees. Imagine, flying together as husband and wife! I know you'll both rise to the challenge. Or as the Na'vi would say: "Sivako!"

Do spend some time appreciating the incredibly astonishing Valley of Mo'ara, with its floating mountains, cascading waterfalls and bioluminescent fauna and flora. It's a stunning sight to behold! In fact, one doesn't even have to experience the newest attractions to truly appreciate the impressive new land – which you must visit both day and at night.

Disney Character Experiences can be lots of fun! On my honeymoon, I recall Minnie Mouse being smitten with my husband. So be sure to look for your favorite Disney characters throughout the Disney Parks on your honeymoon too.

    Enjoy the magic!

    Hello Hayley!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and a hearty kudos in your excellent choice for a Honeymoon destination. My wife and I always reserve at least one Endlessly Magical night on each Walt Disney World Resort Vacation for just the two of us.

First, be sure to pick up a Celebratory Button and the Bride and Groom's Mickey and Minnie Ear Hats to wear around the Theme Parks. One of the more magical elements of Walt Disney World Resort is how everyone around you joins in on your celebrations. My daughter began a conversation with a newly-married couple in line for an attraction and it was a sweet moment when the Groom talked about having a daughter like her one day and how the Bride positively beamed thinking about the father her husband would become.

Try to find Cinderella's stepsisters for a Disney PhotoPass opportunity at Magic Kingdom or during Character Dining at 1900 Park Fare. Not only are Anastasia and Drizella two of the largest personalities during Character Meets, the reaction they provide during photos after learning they have lost another potential "husband" is always priceless.

I also recommend a Character Meeting with Cinderella's Fairy Godmother as it works so well for young love having a  photo capturing the beginning of your Happily Ever After.

Finally, make it a point to cuddle during one of the dark rides at Walt Disney World Resort during your Honeymoon. Be sure to recreate the experience on every future Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Even my kids know Mommy and Daddy ride Haunted Mansion together to "smooch".

    Have a Magical Honeymoon!

    Hi Hayley,

And so your adventure begins! I vividly remember the day my husband told me that he had booked our honeymoon to the Walt Disney World Resort. It was such a perfect moment!

We stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. My first suggestion is to take advantage of the activities at your resort. The bike rentals are a perfect way to explore. If your resort does not have bike rentals, try renting them at Disney's BoardWalk area. Of course, I suggest that you stop to get a tasty treat at one of the restaurants located at the BoardWalk. Ice cream anyone?

What honeymoon would be complete without some sort of fun surprise? On our honeymoon, at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, the host asked if there were honeymooners in the audience. I jumped up and started waving my hands. The host said "Well that's great ma'am but where is your husband?" He was not standing with me. The audience found it so funny. At that time, we were allowed to be extras in the show. We have the best photo from that experience!

For dinner, I suggest STK Orlando at Disney Springs. They have an outdoor patio with great views of the Disney Springs area. The atmosphere is just fun! While at Disney Springs, take a ride with Vintage Amphicar & Italian Water Taxi Tours.

Hayley, whatever you do, remember to relax! Magic often comes in small and quiet experiences. My favorite memories are actually just us walking back to our room from the parks at night. I am sending pixie dust your way trusting that your honeymoon will be the beginning of a lifetime together filled with love and laughter.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
