It's only a few weeks before trip and we are getting so excited! We just told the kids the news and now they are joining in on the excitement. Any planning suggestions on what we need to do 2 weeks before our trip? We have made dining reservations already

Hi Jennifer! Your household must really be rocking now that the kids know about your upcoming Disney trip. I suggest you start a countdown calendar where the kids can each mark it off as the days go by and the departure gets nearer. Some families like to have their kids earn a little of their own spending money for souvenirs so you might even start this for them.

I am glad to know you have your dining reservations as this would be a bit late to get them now. At this time try to plan out your days so you have a general idea of where you will be heading during the week. Study the park maps so you are comfortable and familiar with the location of the attractions, restaurants, etc. If you are using the Magical Express service make sure you have gotten the tags in the mail and if it becomes two weeks before departure then call and inquire about that. About a week out do your on line check in as this will save you time once you arrive at your resort. Everyone is so excited and standing in a long line just to get your room is not going to go over with the rest of the group!

I also copy down my dining reservation numbers and keep a copy with me just in case there is an issue when you arrive at a dining location. I have not had any trouble but maybe it is because I am prepared if there should be one.

Understand and read about the Fast Pass system used for the attractions and also the Rider Swap if you have younger children. Make a priority list of the attractions in each park. Let the kids make their own list and then put them together so everyone has a chance to do at least one thing that is tops for them.  Once you have the list you can plan which have Fast Pass and the location and try not to jump from one end of a park to the other as that will take time and energy.

Last check out the schedule for the park parades and fireworks although it is always good to get the most current schedule when you check in. Have a great trip!
