Epcot and monorail at night

Hi fellow moms! I was wondering if you all had any strategies for me regarding dining reservations. We have a party of 8 adults going to WDW this time, and we got reservations for 4 of us at Akershus but now we need 4 more! Any tips?

    Hi Cathy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this question to us!

As you have discovered, making dining reservations for larger groups can be a bit of a challenge. It seems that you have already implemented stealth strategy #1 - divide your party into smaller groups. It sounds like you have also implemented stealth strategy #2, which is to check the online reservation system continuously.

One particular night I was trying desperately to find a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table. I must admit that I stalked the system for at least two hours. Finally a lunch reservation opened for a party of four (we were a party of seven) so I grabbed it! When we arrived, three of us ate elsewhere while my cousin took our princesses to dine in the castle.

Are there princesses in your party that must dine with their fellow royalty and others who might be happier with the more common folks? There are several fabulous dining options in Epcot so you might try to find another reservation at a different restaurant around the same time.

I suggest that you check again the week prior to your trip. Families do occasionally cancel reservations. During our last trip, I was able to change a reservation during the trip. That same restaurant had been booked solid for weeks prior. I have actually seen at least two families simply walk up to Be Our Guest restaurant and get a reservation at the last minute!

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to check with the Concierge desk. They may be able to work some magic for you!

Cathy, stay strong! I am sending pixie dust your way trusting that you will get the rest of your party at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
