Hi Fellow Carolina Girl! So glad to have a reason to question you again, planning trip for 1/12! Want to try value resorts, boys want to stay at Sports. Are all Surfs Up rooms preferred? And if so, is it worth paying more for? Thanks again for your help!

Hi Adrienne! It's nice to hear from my fellow Carolina girl again! The two Surf's Up buildings (numbers 1 and 6) are the "preferred" rooms at the All-Star Sports Resort. These buildings are closest to the buses, the food court, the feature pool and the main building, and for that reason they cost roughly $15 more per night.  If It's important to you to be close to the action, you might find it worth it to pay the extra cost. However, because the Surf's Up section is closest to the main pool, it can be noisy. The Touchdown buildings have almost as good a location and tend to be quieter.

I generally book the least expensive room type when I stay at Disney resorts; it's usually not worth it to me to pay extra for location, unless I'm traveling with an elderly relative who has mobility issues. You can certainly request a particular area, such as Surf's Up or Touchdown, and while getting such requests can't be guaranteed, Disney does aim to please.

I know you're so excited to be planning another Disney vacation! Come see me again at the Moms Panel if I can help!
