I feel a little lost as to how to plan for a vacation with a nearly 2 year old and a 5 month old. How do you keep the kids from becoming overwhelmed, cooridnate time in the parks with nap times at the resort, what rides/attractions are 2 year old friendly?

Hi Rebecca! I know it can be overwhelming! Here's what I do (& others suggest) to help make this vacation an actual vacation!
    1. Take naps. It can seem like a bummer to go back to your hotel and "miss out" on the parks  so your kids can nap, but it's so worth it! Don't feel pressure to SEE IT ALL with a 2yo & 5mo.
    2. Be there at rope drop! If your kids are like mine, they get up early even when they went to bed late. So, take advantage of those early mornings by being at the park when it opens. There is usually a fun opening ceremony & you'll have less crowds to deal with, too!
    3. Take advantage of the Baby Care Centers. In each park there is a baby care center with private nursing rooms, changing tables, high chairs & space for kids to watch TV and read books. It's also air-conditioned! We spent a lot of time there!
    4. Go slow. If your kids get overwhelmed or are scared of characters, rides, etc. (my 5yo is terrified of the characters) then just do what they like. Don't force them to do what you think they'll like. I had to keep telling my husband, "Lower your expectations!" We didn't get to go on any roller coasters or see some of the shows we wanted because my daughter was too scared. But it was worth it because we had a calm child!

And I think the final thing is RELAX. I know I had to just calm myself down and let it go--the Disney experience with preschoolers is waaay different than with elementary kids or as adults. It's just as (maybe more) magical--you just have to take it a little slower!

If you have any other specific questions, please let me know. I'd love to chat more about your trip & your kids!
