    Kaylene Asked

Where is your favorite place/spot to view Illuminations and how early do you recommend snagging the spot on a busy day. We are visiting on Presidents Day 2/18 with our DDs 2 and 5. Any advice on ways to keep them busy during our wait?

    Hi Kaylene!

This is a great question!  First, let me say that Illuminations can be seen well all around World Showcase Lagoon. The most important thing is being able to see the Earth ball in the lagoon, so make sure it is not blocked by trees or a structure when you pick your spot. Because there are so many spots, you really don't have to claim a spot until about 30 minutes before show time.

That said there are some prime spots that require getting there early. The absolute best location is in the middle between the two stores that are at the end of the path coming from Future World, directly opposite and across the lagoon from the American Adventure Pavilion.  You should show up there at least 60 minutes before show time; however, you should know this section is sometimes reserved for special groups. Another great place is from the rocks near Canda and near the rocks near China. I also love watching Illuminations from the bridge between the France and UK Pavilions can you can show up there about 20 minutes before show time.

Another good idea is to watch the fireworks while enjoying dinner at the Rose and Crown Pub. There are a few tables right next to the water, though it is hard to get one of those tables.

I hope this helps. Please write back with more questions.
