We have fastpasses for Flight of Passage in April! I've read that it can feel intense. I know we can't leave mid-flight but are there any tricks if we need to tune out the simulation? If we close our eyes will that help or be worse?

    Hi Devin, and welcome back!

It's always a pleasure to answer an old friend of the Disney Parks Moms Panel, even if it is my first time answering you!

I believe I felt the exact same anticipation when I was entering Avatar Flight of Passage for the first time. I'm not a fan of high rollercoasters and I don't even like being on an airplane, as I often get motion sick. So I was pretty scared when I first entered it, but I'm glad I did - it is now one of my favorite attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort.

I've had to tune out on the first time I was on it. I was so afraid of feeling sick that I tuned out just to check if I could! The best tip is to look down to your chest or your hands. It works instantly! If you choose to close your eyes, though, don't be afraid as it will not make it worse.

Having said that, I'd advise you to trust the experience. The whole storytelling is beautiful and the attraction is not scary - the last time I was on it I actually felt empowered!

There is a true journey to be experienced within Avatar Flight of Passage, and it may be even more meaningful for people like you and me, who face actual fears when they embrace this adventure.

As the bonding with a banshee means that a young Nav'i is strong and brave, enjoying  Avatar Flight of Passage will surely remind you that you are too.

Please come back to let us know what your Avatar Flight of Passage journey was like, Devin, as I'll be here sending you some pixie dusted good luck thoughts!

Eywa ngahu, and may the magic be with you!
