How does Fastpass work in Disneyland?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jaqueline. I hope you're having a splendid week.

Disney FASTPASS Service is complimentary to all Guests, and it's a way of saving your place in line for select attractions at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. This service allows you to enjoy other parts of the parks while waiting for your FASTPASS return time.

Here's how Disney FASTPASS service works. For attractions that offer FASTPASS, look for the posted return time and check to see if this will work out for your schedule. Locate the FASTPASS distribution kiosks. Insert your admission ticket into the FASTPASS machine and it'll generate a FASTPASS ticket for you. This will show your return time. While you wait, enjoy other parts of the parks. And when it is time for your return time, simply head to the FASTPASS return entrance and show the Disney Cast Member your FASTPASS ticket. You'll have minimal wait before riding the attraction! (*Please keep in mind, Disney FASTPASS Service machines will not issue another ticket until the time stated on your current one.)

Additionally, World of Color and Frozen - Live at the Hyperion also utilize the Disney FASTPASS Service. However, having FASTPASS tickets for these two shows will not affect the ability to obtain FASTPASS tickets for rides.

I recommend downloading the Disneyland Resort app onto your smartphone. It has great information on ride wait times, as well as FASTPASS distribution times. Our family loves using the app while we are at the Disneyland Resort. You can even check out dining menus, as well as meet-and-greet times and locations for your favorite Disney characters.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Jaqueline. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions.

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
