Hi Moms! Has Fastpass+ taken the place of Fastpass or can you have both at the same time? I am concerned about the FP+ meaning I do not know 60 days in advance which park we will be in on what day. Can you please clear up the confusion? Thanks bunches!

    Hi Shari,

The old "legacy" paper FastPass system is completely gone. The only ride reservation system is now FastPass+.

One of the nicest things about FP+ is its flexibility. You can make reservations, and make changes to your reservations, online, via a free smartphone app, or at kiosks in the parks. If you make a FP+ reservation and you find that it's not working for you, then you can change in on the fly.

For example, during my most recent WDW visit, I had a FP+ for Space Mountain at 10:30. When I got to the attraction, the wait was only 15 minutes long. Rather than "waste" one of my FP+ on this relatively short wait, I got into the standby line. While I was in line, I got on my phone and change the Space Mountain FP+ to a Peter Pan FP+ later in the day. It took less than a minute and was easy peasy.

My suggestion for you is to make a rough plan at the 60 day point. (You'll have to make a rough meal reservation plan at the 180 day point as well.) Make some FP+ reservations based on your best guesses. Then as your plan becomes clearer, modify your reservations to meet your new needs.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
