How does the Fast Pass work for fireworks or parades? Is there a reserved area for people with Fast passes?

    William:

I used one of my FP+ selections for the afternoon parade at the Magic Kingdom last week and was NOT disappointed. The reserved spots for the parade are at the "top" of the spoke at the end of Main Street. You'll see a Cast Member holding a sign alerting you to the reserved parade area near the side of the circle that is nearest Tomorrowland. From there, you enter the roped area after you scan your Magic Band. Although I arrived about 20 minutes before the parade began, the rest of my party arrived minutes before. We could have gotten a spot at the rope but I like to be a few feet away to see the floats. It also made me feel like a VIP!

In the evening, the reserved section for the fireworks is off to the right of the castle (as you face it) in the Rose Garden. You can arrive early and sit on the grass--which is a lot nicer than sitting on concrete--or arrive with minutes to spare. My only con to this location is that you don't see the fireworks with a frontal view.

I would recommend FP+ for either: it saves you time to enjoy other park attractions and once there, you're not being pushed by the crowds. It can be a real day-saver if you have children who are tired and cranky. The biggest con is that by holding your third FP+ until the evening parade or fireworks, you are essentially locked out of making any more FP+ selections because Disney only allows you to make subsequent ones after you've spent your first three. If you're a family on-the-go, you might pass, but if children are in tow, I highly recommend it.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
