    Gary from MS Asked

How does the fast pass work at Disneyland? We’ve used the one at Disney world but not at Disneyland. How does it compare?

Howdy, Gary! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Disney FASTPASS Service at the Disneyland Resort varies greatly from FastPass+ at the Walt Disney World Resort so I'm glad you asked this question before your trip. The first difference is that FASTPASS is only offered at select attractions at the Disneyland Resort. While FASTPASS is slowly being added to more and more attractions, there are still many that are standby only.

Next, there are two different ways to obtain FASTPASSES here. The traditional Disney FASTPASS Service is included with your theme park admission and requires you to visit physical FASTPASS distribution kiosks to receive your FASTPASS return time. For an extra fee, you can upgrade to the Disney MaxPass option which allows you to make FASTPASS selections from anywhere in the parks using the Disneyland app on your mobile device. For either option, you will scan your theme park ticket or your FASTPASS on the app to enter the FASTPASS queue when it's time to ride.

The last difference is that you cannot book your FASTPASSES in advance like you can at the Walt Disney World Resort. Even with Disney MaxPass, FASTPASS selections can only be made for that day once you have entered either park.

Both options will allow you to skip the majority of the line at popular attractions and to make efficient use of your time. If your budget allows, absolutely upgrade to the Disney MaxPass option. It is astonishing how much time you save by using Disney MaxPass.

I would love to answer any other questions you have and to share my tips on using Disney MaxPass with you, so please visit us again!
