What is the Fast Pass Standbye Queue and how do I get in it? When I try to sign up for a couple of our ‘must see’ attractions it tells me that nothing is available, but there may be room in the standby queue. I don’t see anything saying what that is?

Aloha Cheryl, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a very important question.

Any guest with a valid theme park admission paid in advance, and linked to their My Disney Experience account can make FastPass+ selections 30 days in advance online or in the mobile app. Guests who are staying on Disney property can make their selections 60 days in advance. The most popular rides and attractions in Disney Theme Parks have 2 ride queues or lines. One is the FastPass+ queue where guests who have obtained a reservation will enter a queue for that experience at a designated time. These guests will experience a very short wait or will enter the show first. The other queue is the Standby queue or line. This is the regular line that guests will enter who do not have a FastPass+ entitlement. When you see wait times listed on the My Disney Experience Mobile App or posted at the actual attraction, this is how long a guest will have to wait in the Standby line to experience the ride or attraction.

There are a limited number of FastPass+ slots available for each attraction per day. Once they have been distributed to guests, you will see the message stating that only the Standby line is available. But, do not worry, I have a few tips for you to minimize your wait time for your must-see rides and attractions. My first tip is to keep checking back online or the mobile app for FastPass+ availability. Guests who already have a FastPass+ may have to change their plans at the last minute, opening up a few slots. Second, and most important, is to arrive early before the park opens. Once the park is open you should head straight for the ride or attraction that you want to ride the most. This will minimize your wait time because there will be fewer guests in the park first thing in the morning.

    See ya real soon,
    Andrea
