How does Fast Pass Plus work with parades? How long will you wait if you use Fast Pass Plus for a parade? We will be going in August with 7, 5 and 2 year olds. I am just wondering if this is worth using Fast Pass Plus on a parade or not. Thanks!

    Hi Lauren,

I just returned from a trip to Walt Disney World, and we viewed the new Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom both with and without FastPass+.  The parade was amazing and I definitely recommend seeing it!  Let me tell you a bit about our experiences.  Bear in mind that the showtimes of the parade may be different when you visit Walt Disney World.

When we did not have FastPass+, I wanted to be sure that we got a good spot from which to view the parade - preferably in the shade since it was a hot and sunny day.  My family found a shady spot on a porch in Frontierland at approximately 11:00 a.m. for a 12:00 p.m. parade.  We had some ice cream snacks and took a rest as we waited.  This was fine for us, but it was just my husband, myself, and my 8-year-old daughter.  Since your children are younger, you will have to decide if you think that they will be able to endure this wait.

A few days later, we had a FastPass+ selection for the 3:30 p.m. showing of the Festival of Fantasy Parade.  Our FastPass+ indicated that we should arrive at the FastPass+ viewing area between 3:15 p.m. and 3:35 p.m.  We arrived at about 3:25 p.m.  Enough people were already there that we were the second row of viewing, but with ample room, a good view, and my daughter was able to stand up front. I suggest that if the parade is a priority for you, use a FastPass+ selection for it.

There is a very good article about using FastPass+ for parades on the unofficial site Touring Plans.  To find it, visit blog.touringplans.com, and search for "FastPass+ parades."  The first link will be to the article.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Lauren!  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
