Should you use fast pass during extra magic hours or is that wasting them? If park has extra magic hours from 9pm-11pm are all rides open during this time and can you schedule fast pass for this time?

Hi Ron! Thank you for coming to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your planning questions. I hope we are able to help you make this the most memorable vacation ever.

When parks have Extra Magic Hours they do not accept FastPasses during that time. But you honestly don't need them as the park is open to only resort guests and the lines will be the shortest of the day whether it is early morning or late at night. Normally most of the main attractions will be open during that time as well. In the Magic Kingdom you won't be able to head to Tom Sawyers Island or ride the River Boat as both of these start up later in the morning and close at dusk each day so there are exceptions.

I encourage guests to use the Extra Magic hours if possible. When you are traveling with young children the late hours can be difficult to keep them awake and happy. Sometimes taking a mid day nap will help but also think about your plans on the next day as you won't want to get up too early. If there is an attraction that you must do while at Disney then I suggest you grab a FastPass for it. If lines are short and you can do it again during the Extra Magic Hours then that is awesome.
