How far is the walk from GF to Polynesian? Stay at GF, plan to go to poly for aloha show, electric parade and maybe other meals? Would prefer to walk but if not how long is the boat ride and monorail btw the 2 also? Also about how long r character meals?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stephanie! We’re happy you stopped by to bring us your question. It’s our pleasure to help you dream up and plan an unforgettable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

Stephanie, I love the walk between the magnificent Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It’s a lovely 10-15-minute walk where you get to enjoy a quiet and lush path with views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Disney’s Wedding Pavilion. If you choose the monorail or the boats, the travel time is estimated at around 20-minutes each. I do enjoy a relaxing boat ride as well. The views are stunning!

Did you know your My Disney Experience mobile app can provide you with GPS, turn-by-turn directions between your destinations at the Walt Disney World Resort? Simply search for a location, select get directions and follow along. This handy planning tool is a must for me when I am touring the parks. It has all your vacation information like your reservations, FastPass+, Park Hours, attraction wait times, and more. I can’t do Disney without it! Be sure to download it before you arrive so you are ready to go once you get to the magic!

As far as Character dining, I would plan anywhere between 1.5-2-hours to really enjoy the experience and not rush. Be sure to budget in travel time using that handy GPS tool so you have plenty of time and can enjoy every moment without having to rush.

I hope this information was helpful! For any additional tips, advice, or questions about your upcoming visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us.

    Have a magical day,
