Fantastmic! How does it work? Do you recommend getting lunch/dinner reservation to get good seats? What restaurants have reservations for this?

    Hello Judy!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It looks like you’re no stranger here and have planned some pretty amazing trips!

Fantasmic! at the Disneyland Resort is by far my favorite night time spectacular of all the U.S. Disney Parks. Mickey Mouse is the star and you’ll enjoy an epic battle of good vs evil that is perfect for the whole family. The Dining Packages do have the best seats but the Disney FASTPASS seats are pretty good as well. Whatever you do, do not rely on the standby seats. I think it’s going to depend on how important good seats are to you and if you want to not stress about it the day of your visit. With a Dining Package you'll rest assured that your seats are saved for you. I know that for me, when I visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the first time, Fantasmic! was a must for me and we went with the dining package. Remember, dining packages can be booked up to 60 days in advance and I highly recommend doing so!

The best seats in the house are going to go with the Blue Bayou Restaurant option. Your seats will be front and center from the stage and you’ll feel like you’re part of the show! Well maybe not that close but they're great seats! You can enjoy a lunch or dinner option with food with Cajun and Creole flavors. This is one of my favorite restaurants on property and the food does not disappoint! If you can swing it, this is my favorite option.

The next option is the River Belle Terrace. You’ll enjoy Southern flavors and can also choose between a lunch or dinner option. These seats are to the right of the Blue Bayou seats and place you slightly right from the stage. This package can be upgraded to a premium option that allows you to have seats on the patio of the restaurant. I’ve sat here for the show and while it was nice to have a chair for the show, it was pretty far away and you could not see very well. I would not recommend the premium option.

The last option is perfect for those on the go who are all about shows and rides and don’t really want to sit down for a table service meal. The Hungry Bear Restaurant option offers a grab and go option where you can either sit at one of the tables outside or take it with you while you explore the park. These seats are to the left of the Blue Bayou seats and place you to the left of the stage.

Well Judy, it looks like you’ve got a decision to make. Besides the premium upgrade option, all of these viewing areas are fantastic and I would recommend all of them if you don’t want to stress about your seat.

Remember, always believe in the magic!
