My famy of five (kids ages 10, 8, 5) are planning our first and maybe only trip to WDW for February or April. Which month would be better to visit. My second question is whether we should book at the Polynesian or Arts of Animation. Thanks!

    Hey Caroline-

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Wahoo! Your first trip to Walt Disney World Resort is be a blast for your family.

First, a thought for your budget. Less money spent on hotel equals more money for fun, souvenirs and memories.

A few of things to consider about time of year. Midweek is always the slowest and weekends more crowded at the theme parks. April is warmer than February. February will be the least expensive option if you visit the first week of the month but will have lower crowds the last week of the month. 4. April has better weather and is best to visit after the second week in April. I'd choose April.

A few things to consider about resorts. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has fantastic kid oriented Disney theming. If you get a Family Suite then you will have much more room than a standard room anywhere else. There are three pools on property. You must take a bus or car to all theme parks. The Landscape of Flavors food court has many delicious food options. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is newly refurbished with excellent tropical theming. It is on the Resort monorail line and an easy walk to the Epcot monorail. The restaurants within the resort have more sophisticated menus which will delight every palate. Monorail resorts are very convenient for short transportation times.

Disney Dad Tip: For a family of five that this maybe their only trip ever to Walt Disney World Resort, I would spend the extra money and stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.  It’s just too magical and convenient. You may travel to Magic Kingdom Park by ferry or monorail and you can see Wishes nighttime spectacular fireworks from the beach. I'd say "Aloha" to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Caroline, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
