It's my family's first time going to WDW. Can you see everything in the 4 theme parks within 5/night, 6 day stay at the Disney resort or is staying for longer better? Do I need to worry about hurricanes during the last week of August and need insurance?

    Hi Hasina,

Your first time?  I am so excited for you, and you will experience so much "magic" in Walt Disney World!  "Pixie Dust" and "Dreams Come True" will surround you....all you have to do is show up and BELIEVE!  On to your question....Will we see everything in 6 days? I am sorry to put a damper on your plans, but no! I have been going to Walt Disney World since 1975 with approximately 50 visits or more later and spending at least 2-4 weeks per visit, I have STILL NOT seen everything and not even close to it.  My suggestion would be for you to go and enjoy your 6 days with your mind being open to come back at some other time for another vacation and see the things that you missed on your last trip.  I would navigate the Walt Disney World website a bit beforehand and maybe do a bit of "searching" on the Moms Panel for ideas of events and attractions, etc.. that you would like to experience during this vacation.  You won't be "in the dark" when you arrive, you will be a bit prepared on what to expect and most importantly.....you will have fun without stress!

You will be going in August which is still hurricane season and insurance is really up to you, but I have never experienced any problems and I have gone many, many times in July and August.  Never say never, but I would just follow the weather news while down there and if something should happen then I would plan a day inside during this bad weather.  The resorts are built to withstand these types of winds and you are quite a ways inland, so I think if there would be anything at all to worry about it would be superficial damage (like trees falling down, etc...).  I would not worry, that's just my opinion!

I hope you have a magical first visit and don't forget to get your complimentary "It's my 1st Disney World Vacation" buttons from any Guest Services location in the parks or WDW Resort for some "special" attention!
