Hello. This will be my family's first time travelling to WDW as adults. We will be going for my sons 4th birthday in October of 2019 and that is when we would like to go. My question is when is the best time to start booking everything?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Anne! It looks like you are planning an intergalactic visit to Walt Disney World Resort next year! You’ll love your planning options that I’ll detail for you below.

You can book room reservations or a Magic Your Way Disney vacation package by phone as early as 499 days in advance of your arrival. This ensures you’ll have first pick of your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and room type, which can be important to your family, especially as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is expected to take flight in late fall of 2019. Since this is expected to be a popular time to visit, I’d go ahead and call (407) 939-1936 to choose your room and pay the deposit to secure your reservation. With the help of a Cast Member at this number or a free-to-you travel agent like mine at TravelMation, you can also purchase park tickets, and as your trip draws closer, dining reservations (180 days ahead of check-in) and FastPass+ reservations (60 days ahead of check-in) which will be very important to your magical trip.

If I can share some helpful tips for traveling with preschoolers or kiddos that love Star Wars, please let me know. I may be a little short for a stormtrooper, but I’ve got the Parks on high alert! May the Force be with you. ~ Lindsey P.
