Our family(kids are 20 and 14)is looking to travel to WDW from Australia at the end of Nov-what are the public / school / other events we need to be aware of and what is the weather like at that time of the year - should we pack swimmers for Blizzard Beach

G'day, mate!  I'm sorry, Jennifer; I had to say it!  I'm happy to walk you through the American holidays and events that might affect your trip.  A vacation in late November might just land you at Disney during Thanksgiving week.  In our neck of the woods, Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November.  You should expect high crowd levels from the Saturday before Thanksgiving to the Saturday following it.  By the Sunday following the holiday, crowd levels should return to much more tolerable levels.

As for the weather, it's really up to Mother Nature's whim.  Average highs are right around 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) with lows dipping into the upper 50's.  Of course, it could be much cooler when you visit.  If it were me, I'd plan to dress in layers and peel them off if the temps climb throughout the day.  It would certainly not hurt to bring along bathing suits; you might find that it's warm enough to take a dip in the pool or head to a water park.  Enjoy your trip!
