My family is going to World dec7-14. We are staying outside the park. Can we park free at downtown disney and get on buses? Please tell me how to do the parking.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Lynn!

December is such an amazing time of year to visit Disney World! The parks are decorated so beautiful for the Christmas season!

Parking is free at Downtown Disney but there are no buses that go from there directly to the theme parks so that's not really a great option. You'd have to take a bus to a Disney Resort and then take a bus from the resort to the theme park you wanted to visit. Especially after a long day in the parks when everyone is exhausted, its really not worth the hassle in my opinion.

If you are staying at a resort, you may want to check to see if they have a shuttle that runs to the parks. Many of the resorts in the Orlando area provide complimentary shuttle service to the theme parks.  Just make sure you know their hours of operation, schedule and their pick up locations so that you're not stuck at the parks at the end of the day.

Having family in the Orlando area, I've stayed off property a lot. To me the most stress free thing to do is to drive to the parks. Each theme park has its own parking lot. Once you're on Disney property, there are signs that are easy to follow that will direct you to all of the theme parks.

The current daily rate to park at any of the 4 theme parks is $15.00 (tax included). Please keep in mind that prices are always subject to change without notice. You only have to pay to park once per day so if you visit more than one park on any given day, you can show your receipt at the next parking plaza and you won't be charged again.  If anyone in your vehicle is a current Annual Pass Holder, they can show their Annual Pass and ID and parking is free.

Parking is free at both of the water parks.

Please feel free to visit with all of your questions. Its a privilege to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
