My family has never been to WDW and I am trying to plan a trip for all 6 of us (37,36,20,16,15,2) that includes me and hubby. I am looking for the cheapest places to stay, to fly and trying to not break the bank and still make sure that everyone has fun.

    Hi Stacey!

I also have a large family and we find that vacationing in Walt Disney World during less busy times of the year makes my dollar really stretch. So my first piece of advice is to plan your dates during "value season", which in general means times in which American schools are in session and it's not a holiday. We in particular love visiting during the first two weeks of December. Disney + Holidays = MAGIC!

The next way to save on your vacation is to select your lodging from either the value or moderate hotel categories.  For a party of six you can either select a value category Family Suite or two rooms of either value or moderate category. I have done both and each has its virtues. The Art of Animation Family Suites are amazing, take a look at the link and click on the photos to see what I mean. There are family suites at All Star Music and Art of Animation. However if the older "kids" in your family are adult sized, you might want to consider two rooms instead. With two rooms you have four double beds in total and there aren't any pull-outs. If you decide on two rooms be sure to request "connecting" instead of adjoining since connecting has an interior door between the rooms while adjoining means they are rooms next to each other. Room location isn't guaranteed but the Cast Members do their very best to grant your requests.

And finally ~ flights. I usually book my flights before I book my room since the price can fluctuate a great deal each the day of the week. My only requirement is that I always make sure I fly into Orlando International (MCO) in order to take advantage of the complimentary Magical Express to your resort hotel.

    Wishing you a Magical Vacation!
