Hi! My family and I are going to WDW in October of this year (2016). I was wondering if the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom was worth taking on? Can you do it as part of regular day park plans or do you have to dedicate specific time to do this activity?

    Hi Sylvia,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations!

My daughter loves Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. In this fun, interactive experience that takes place throughout Magic Kingdom, you become Merlin's apprentice and help to fight villains such as Jafar and Ursula. In order to play, stop by the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A. as you enter Magic Kingdom. There, you will be given everything that you need to experience Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, as well as training in what to do. Here's a hint: have everyone in your traveling party sign up to play. Each day, each person is eligible for a pack of spell cards. By having everyone play and picking up new spell cards each day, you will get more and more variety of spell cards! All of this is included with your theme park admission.

I do think that this experience is worth trying. My daughter does truly enjoy it, and we revisit it again and again. She even brings back her spell cards from home for each trip! Also, it is included with admission, so you do not have to pay any extra to try it. During each segment of the game, you stay in one land, and we find that typically a segment of the game takes 30 minutes to an hour to play. We often find ourselves with that much time on our hands in a day, so we let my daughter know at that time that she can play a segment of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. You do not need to set aside special time to do so - you can play during your day when you find that you have time.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Sylvia. Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
