My family is going to WDW in November at Thanksgiving for a week, and I was wondering if it would be particularly busy at the Wilderness Lodge at that time of year and if they had theme decorations like the other resorts? Thanks for the help!

    Hi James.

The Wilderness Lodge is my Disney Vacation Club home resort. It has my favorite themeing of any of the WDW resorts. I just love those majestic beams and the colossal fireplace -- so inviting. The WL will be decorated for the holidays. This past Christmas season, the entire Moms Panel had the opportunity to see WL done up for the holidays on our way to dinner at Artist's Point (my fave WDW restaurant). There was a big (Did I say big? I meant to say gigundo enormous.) tree in the lobby with loads of theme-appropriate decorations. Other areas of the WL were decorated with holiday greenery. So lovely.

As far as the crowds go. Yes indeedy, the Wilderness Lodge will be crowded, as will every other nook and cranny of Walt Disney World. Heck, I'll even be there taking up space with my family :-) Thanksgiving Week is one of the high intensity crowd weeks at WDW.  What I've done to help things run more smoothly is that we've decided to do lots of activities that can be reserved in advance.-- meals, shows, even parasailing (Yikes). That way we'll be sure to have easy access to lots of fun!
