Mom And Son On Run

Hi! My family will be at WDW over the New Year and we'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. My son is on a competitive swim team and wants to continue practicing during our vacation. Are there some places he could swim laps? For free or for a fee?

    Hi Lisa!

Unfortunately there are no indoor pools or indoor waterparks at WDW.

I've been in to Walt Disney World in January several times and had temperatures in the low 80s, which is perfect for swimming.  Also, all of the outdoor pools at Walt Disney World are heated year round.  Unfortunately, the pool at the Wilderness lodge is not conducive for lap swimming.  The Swan and Dolphin have a great pool for lap swimming, but you would have to be a guest there.

The City of Orlando has pools open to the public, including indoor pools.  I suggest contacting their aquatic department at (407) 246-4281 to find a location close to Walt Disney World.

    Good luck!
