My family has been to WDW multiple times but we've never stayed in a Disney resort. We are trying to decide between Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside. Can anyone offer a suggestion between these two? Or another moderate $?

Hi, Stephanie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

How exciting to be staying in the heart of all the magic at Walt Disney World Resort! Having stayed at both Disney Resort hotels, multiple times each, I can tell you that these are my two favorite Moderate Disney Resort hotels! We actually stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort on our honeymoon, and then again on a mother-daughter trip with my mom! I just love the relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful grounds and all of the Resort recreation options. If you plan on spending a lot of time at Disney Springs, you can actually take a water taxi there from this Resort hotel! The Royal Guest Rooms also blew me away with their beauty and unique theming!

Over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you get that laid-back Caribbean vibe which we also LOVED! The pool, in my opinion, has a lot more to offer with its theming (old Spanish fort) and a children’s water play area- something to consider if you are traveling with younger buccaneers! This Resort hotel also has specially themed Pirate Rooms! Both Resort hotels have waterslides, Quick-Service and Table-Service dining options, and share similar recreation selections.

So to answer your question, you can’t go wrong with either choice. However, both Resort hotels are rather large, so when staying at either, I always opt for a Preferred Room. That being said, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort will always hold a special place in my heart.

Please come back to see us again soon!
