My family wants to parasail. Do you have to make a reservation in advance or can you show up without one? Also what is the difference between the regular tandem ride and the deluxe tandem ride? Does the rate cover both people or is it per person?

My family went parasailing from the Contemporary resort about six months ago. I am normally a bit afraid of heights and was nervous before the flight, but once I got up in the air, I LOVED it. I'd go back and do it again without hesitation. You can read more about our experiences HERE and HERE.

Reservations are strongly recommended for parasailing. The water sports center needs to make sure that guides are on hand to take you out.

Our guides also told us that during the warmer months, they may take up as many as 40 flights per day. If you want to go during this busy time, you'll want a reservation. You can make reservations by calling 407-939-0754.

The price given for tandem flights includes both people. There is a regular and a deluxe version of both single and tandem flights. The difference is in the duration and height of the flight. Regular flights last 8 to 10 minutes, at a height of 450 feet. Deluxe flights last 10-12 minutes at a height of 600 feet. We did the regular flight. I felt like it was just right for us.

There may be discounts on parasailing for DVC members, WDW Annual Pass Holders, and Disney Visa Card Holders. Be sure to ask about discounts before you take your flight.

    Have a great time!
