Animals in the Savannah at Disney's Animal Kingdom resort

We are a family of 6 wanting to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Savanah View. I am considering 2 standard rooms vs. 1 bedroom suite. Any opinion as which room type or location (sunrise/set) offers better animal viewing? Better overall experience?

Hello Elle, or as they more often greet Guests on the African continent 'Jambo!'
In my experience of staying in the wildly beautiful Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with my own family of 6 where we opted for 2 x Savanna View inter-connecting rooms made up of 1 x Savanna View plus 1 x Savanna View with bunk bed.  We found this configuration provided us all with plenty of space and privacy, plus a great view of the wildlife on the Savanna below.
Savanna View rooms truly do give Guests a fascinating vantage point from which to watch the various animals freely wandering around and I do believe the more central to the horseshoe shape of the lodge, the better the view could be.  Room requests can be made during Online Check-in, but it is worth bearing in mind that requests can never be fully guaranteed.
I also thought you may find this Rooms for 5 Guests or more link to be an extra useful planning resource.
If I can help sprinkle any extra pixie dust onto your upcoming plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort please do pop back to ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
