Our family will be visiting WDW resort in Nov 2011. My daughter is 9 and this will be her first visit. We're trying to figure out some places to eat. We have the deluxe dining plan. What are some MUST places to eat?

    Hi Michelle:

Here are some suggestions that work for my family, which includes 5 and 3 year old boys. Your family may have different tastes, but hopefully these recommendations will be a good start to planning your dining.

You will never go wrong with a character meal at Chef Mickey's. My boys not only enjoy the huge buffet, but their smiles shine when Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and Minnie stop by the table to pose for pictures and sign autographs. My favorite non-character fun Disney restaurant is Biergarten in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot. As you eat an all-you-can consume German-style buffet (along with some American favorites), you will be entertained by costumed musicians playing traditional German music..

Other great family-fun favorites include: 50's Prime Time Café (American comfort food and fun service in a period setting); Whispering Canyon Café (Old West themed family-style restaurant); Raglan Road (modern twist on traditional Irish pub food); and Coral Reef (fun experience for kids (and adults) where you can dine in front of stunning underwater views).

For a fancier night out, consider California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort. California Grill features delicious California Fusion cooking and spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom and the Wishes fireworks show. I would also recommend Le Cellier, a tasty steakhouse at Epcot's Canada Pavilion, Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which serves dishes influenced by African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine, and 'Ohana (for dinner), a Polynesian family-style restaurant, focusing on grilled-meats

    Enjoy your vacation.
