My family is visiting WDW in March. My children are 2 and 1. We are thinking of bringing our double stroller from home. What are the limitations on the strollers, either brought from home or rented? Can we take it on the train, water launch, monorail, etc?

Hi Matt!  Traveling with a stroller and especially a double stroller can be stressful.  Each theme park has stroller rentals available with the double size ones renting for $31 a day.  You can get a special length of stay reduced rate also.  These strollers are hard sided and many families say are not as comfortable for napping as their own.  They cannot leave the parks so if you feel you will need one at your resort this is not the way to go.

Your strollers will be allowed on all Disney transportation on property.  Please be aware ahead of time that traveling with these large strollers can be a challenge on the busses.  Before a bus is allowed to depart from a stop all strollers must be closed and folded up.  That means your children cannot sit in them during the ride and all packages and containers must be removed before folding them.  It is suggested you get all of this done while waiting for the bus as it is easier then trying to do that on a crowded vehicle!  I have witnessed many stressful moments between frazzled parents and bus drivers trying to obey the Florida laws!

Two options I like to cover for those with stroller issues are as follows.  Stroller rentals including the double sized can be done from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com which has received high reviews from families who chose to do it this way.  They will deliver and pick up from all Disney resorts.  Also be aware that Disney has small single rider umbrella strollers for sale at most resort shops and parks.  They are Kolcraft brand and cost $53.20.  Families have bought these and then donated and left them at their resorts versus taking them home.
