My family will be visiting DL with our 3.5yr old for the first time This fall. Our planned dates for visiting the park are 11/1-11/3. I see that the Halloween decorations and events are over 10/31, but will the parks be closed any of our planned dates?

Hi, Ashleigh! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question. I am beyond thrilled that you will be experiencing the Disneyland Resort for the first time this November! So many magical memories are in store for you and your family.

You are correct that Halloween Time ends on October 31, 2018, and the Holidays officially begin November 9, 2018. So your trip is in the transition period between these two events. However, both parks will be open and operating normally. You may even get to enjoy a few holiday decorations going up in the parks as the transition begins immediately after Halloween. The only closures you will experience are a few attractions as they will either be receiving a holiday overlay or removing an overlay. Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy might be down for a day as it transitions back to regular Space Mountain and “it’s a small world” will be closed during your travel dates because it will be in the process of turning into “it’s a small world” Holiday.

In the next few weeks, official park hours and entertainment show times for your trip will begin to populate the calendar online. Be sure to check the calendar often as some entertainment times don’t fill in until closer to the actual date. Also, if you haven’t already, consider booking some dining reservations as you are within your 60-day window when reservations can be made. Signature and character dining experiences always fill up fast so it’s best to make reservations for those meals as soon as you are able.

If you have any other questions about your upcoming trip, please stop by again. Happy planning!
