My family is visiting Disney in July. End of July to be exact. I know we are going to experience some really hot weather. We have a infant, she'll be 19 months old by then. Any tips on keeping her cool and comfortable while we're there?

    Hi Kristin,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am so glad that you are already thinking about the fact that the weather may be quite hot when you are at Walt Disney World. With some planning, I know that you will be able to remain cool and keep your daughter cool and happy as well!

Of course you will want to do all of the things to keep your daughter cool and happy that you would at home. If you have a stroller with a shade over top, that can be very helpful. Sunhats and light clothing, especially light-colored clothing, are also a good idea. Keeping her well-hydrated with water will be important, as of course is sunscreen.

Specifically to Walt Disney World, I recommend that guests arrive as early as possible to the theme parks. The early morning hours are cooler than the height of the day. Around noon, you can head back to your resort to take a nap or rest when the sun is the highest, and then head back to the theme parks in the late afternoon and evening when it is cooler again.

While you are in the theme parks, try to alternate outside activities with inside activities. While many attractions are outdoors, many are also indoors, especially shows. Also doing a little shopping at a merchandise location or taking a break at a restaurant will get you indoors. The air conditioning inside at Walt Disney World is fabulous!

Finally, be sure to take advantage of the Baby Care Centers while you are at the theme parks. These centers are calm and cooling, and offer quiet and relaxing places to feed, change, and take a break with your little one.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Kristin! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
