My family and I are visiting from Dec 14 to Dec 27 and were wondering how busy the parks are likely to be. Also, the children really want to put a tree up in our room at the Saratoga Springs and wondered whether trees can be ordered. Many thanks.

The crowds at WDW during December range from low to stratospheric. I think you're going to experience a bit of each on your trip. The early and middle part of December are a low-crowd time, you'll have easy access to the rides and attractions. Beginning about December 19 the crowd traffic will explode. In fact, the number of guests in the parks on December 26 could be double the number on December 15. You can still have a great time, even when the parks are packed, you just need to adjust your expectations and plan accordingly.

To make the best use of your time, I would try to do as many of the rides as possible on the first few days of your trip. Then, when the crowds pick up, work more scheduled activities into your plan. For example, during the high-crowd times, do reserved activities like the Candlelight Processional and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, where the crowds won't matter that much because you have a reserved spot or a limited number of people in the venue. Also, try to take advantage of the activities at the resorts during the busy times: rent a bike or boat, check out the different themed holiday decorations, have fun at the pool, etc.

You can certainly have a tree in your room. The fabulous cast members at the Disney Floral and Gift Basket Department can arrange for you to have a tree. You can contact them at disneyflorist.com. You could also mail yourself a small artificial tree in care of the resort and set it up yourself  when you arrive. This option will likely be less expensive.

I stayed at the Saratoga Springs resort about two months ago and had a great time. I'll sure you will too.
