Our family of 4 will be visiting Cali & Disney for the first time. We have 2 daughters ages 8 & 11. My husband doesn't like big crowded areas such as this so I'm wondering what the biggest difference is between DL and CDA?

    Dear Jennifer,
I'm so very excited about your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort, especially knowing it's your first time visiting!
I understand your husband's concern about crowded areas.... I think we can all relate to wishing the Parks weren't so crowded! Then again, everyone wants a little bit of Disney Magic!
The Disneyland Park was Walt Disney's original theme park, which opened to the public in 1955.
Many of the original attractions remain intact, including the ever so popular Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Pirates of the Caribbean and gorgeous landmarks that have made magical memories for millions of families, like Sleeping Beauty's Castle and Main Street, U.S.A.
The Disneyland Park also offers Mickey's Toontown with an opportunity for guests to Visit Mickey's House and Meet Mickey with a unique photo session.
Because of these classic attractions, the Disneyland Park is generally the most crowded of the two.
On the other hand, the Disney California Adventure Park offers a really cool Cali vibe, where guests 21 and over can enjoy adult beverages, enjoy extreme thrill rides, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! and experience Radiator Springs inside the creatively designed Cars Land.
Either way, there are plenty of ways to avoid long lines and enjoy your time. Here are some tips:
    1. Make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance either online or by calling (714) 781-DINE.
    2. Downloand the Disneyland Mobile App so you can check attraction wait times, find nearby restrooms and scan your PhotoPass photos.
    3. Add MaxPass to your tickets so you can reserve FASTPASSES directly from your cell phone.
    4. Book a room at the Disneyland Resort so you can benefit from Extra Magic Hour which allows hotel guests to enter the Parks an hour before its open to the public.
    I hope this helps!
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
