Our family ( 22 of us! ) is coming to Disney December 26-January 2 and I was wondering about some tips to handle the crowds. My Mom is 84, youngest is 2. First time for all but 5 of us. Thanks!!

Hi Maureen! I love that you have 22 family members going on a Disney reunion! So fun!

One of the best ways I find to avoid crowds is to arrive at theme parks just before park opening time. You'll get to enjoy a fun-filled opening ceremony, and the crowds are surprisingly light. I'm always amazed at how many attractions we get to ride during the first two hours of park opening. Save the shopping for mid-day. If the park is open late at night, we'll often head back to the hotel for a rest or swim during the busier, mid-day time, and then go back to the park for the evening hours. Attractions also tend to be much less busy during parade times, so, if you don't mind missing the parade, you might want to visit some of the more popular attractions at that time.

My other best advice: use Fast Passes! Fast Passes enable you to "reserve" a time to come back to the most popular attractions at a later specified time, avoiding the line up. Be sure to check your Fast Pass for the time you are entitled to get another one, and then, get one! Another option you might want to consider is to purchase the Park Hopper option. This way, if the park you are at is too busy, you can simply hop on over to another theme park.

    Enjoy your magical reunion Maureen!
