Hello Moms, my family and I ( two 11 old girls) are planning our first trip to wdw this tues.-sun..Are there any special tours we should attend? They are in the middle of being children and teens,I just want this to be an EXTRA amazing trip. Thanks

    Hi Susan,

How exciting to be sharing your first Disney World vacation with your twins, double the fun! I have a twelve year old so I completely understand that "in between" age. There are a number of tours offered by Disney World, however many of them have a minimum age requirement of sixteen. Some great ones that your daughters are old enough for are:

    • Disney's Magic behind our Steam Engines at Magic Kingdom. This tour looks at the steam locomotives used at WDW and Walt's love of trains.
    • Behind the Seeds which is a walking tour of the greenhouse at Epcot's The Land. My kids loved learning about the new growing techniques and features Disney is using.
    • Wild by Design at Animal Kingdom, which is an insiders look at how Animal Kingdom was created.
    • Mickey's Magical Milestones which is a tour of the life and times of the big cheese himslef, Mickey Mouse.
    • Family Magic Tour at Magic Kingdom is a scavenger hunt throughout the park in search of treasure.

The tours require seprate park admission typically and do cost an additional fee. Tours can be booked up to ninety days in advance by calling 407-939-8687 or 407-WDW-TOUR.

Other things the girls might enjoy include:

    • Extra time at Epcot. There is a quite a wide range of things to see and learn about in the various countries and the girls can find some high tech hands on fun at the Mission Space lab and in both of the Innoventions buildings.
    • Disney's Westside is also home to Disney Quest which is a virtual gaming fantasyland.
    • A round of miniature golf at either Winter/Summerland or Fantasia Gardens
    • A day spent at a waterpark

Hope some of these help make your girls first trip a memorable one!
