Hi, family of 5 travelling from London for 10 nights in Oct, please can you advise us on appropiate tipping, as this is something we are not used to. Cabs, house keeper, quick serve, table serve etc... who dont we tip? thank you

    Hi there, Caoimhne!

Tipping practices are really subjective.  Let me share with you what I consider to be the norm.  Gratuities should be given as a reward for good service.  Although never required, they are nice to do for good service which has been received.   For cab drivers and servers at a table service restaurant, I like to give 20% of the total bill.  The general rule for housekeeping seems to be $1 a day for each person in the room.  I like to leave this tip on a daily basis, as housekeepers can change from day to day.  There is no need to tip at quick service locations.  I also like to tip the Bells Services folks who assist with our luggage, usually a dollar per bag.    Can you think of any other questions you have for me regarding this? If so, feel free to send them to me.  I know you will love the Walt Disney World Resort!

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I wish you a magical vacation!

    Cheerio!
