We are a family of 4 travelling from Australia , after our 5 days at Disney World we will be travelling to Miami beach , We are a little nervous about car hire and driving on the opposite side of the road , How easy is the drive from Orlando to Miami?

Hi, Joanne, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad you stopped by from Down Under to ask us your question today. Let's get you on your way to enjoying your Florida vacation!

Five days at Walt Disney World is a magical way to kick off your visit to my home state! It looks like your adventure is starting soon. In fact, if you're planning to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can start making your FastPass+ selections in just a few days. Just log in to your My Disney Experience account at the 60-day mark (30 days if you're staying off-site), and choose up to three FastPass+ attractions per day. It's really easy!

And speaking of easy, don't worry a bit about your drive from Walt Disney World to the beautiful beaches of Miami. First, if you still need to make plans for picking up a rental car, you can do that right at the Walt Disney World Car Care Center. There's even a complimentary shuttle available to take you from your Resort hotel to collect your car if you're staying on property.

Your route from Central Florida to Miami will likely be all highway driving. You'll probably take the Florida Turnpike to Interstate 95, so the roads are nice and wide, with multiple lanes traveling in each direction. That should help you get used to driving on the opposite side of the road, and your rental car's GPS or the Google Maps app on your phone will assure you that you're headed the right way.

Joanne, I just know you're going to have a magical stay here in the Sunshine State. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to stop by and see us again. We love to help!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
