My family will be traveling to WDW in June (2 adults and 2 boys 5&6) when Fantasmic is offereed twice a night. Do you think that it would be beneficfial to use a TS at H&V from our DDP for the Fantasmic dinner show or just wait for the 2nd showing?

The answer to that depends on how late you want to stay up. If you're willing to stay for the second show of Fantasmic, you can usually walk in to the theater about 20 minutes in advance and still get an acceptable seat. Really not a bad deal, if you don't mind hanging around until the second show. For the first show, you'd probably have to wait an hour or more to ensure that you got a good seat. One way to get around the need to come this early for the first show is, as you suggest, to book a Fantasmic dinner package. With the package, the price of your dinner includes seating in a reserved area at Fantasmic. However, you still need to arrive 20-30 minutes in advance of the show.

During my family vacation to WDW last month, we did the Fantasmic Dinner package at Hollywood and Vine, mostly because we didn't want to wait at the theater for an hour. I have to say that I don't love the food at H&V. It's fine, but to me it's a fairly generic buffet meal that you could get anywhere.  I don't think I would personally do the H&V Fantasmic package again. To me, the food wasn't worth it. On the other hand, if you were able to get a Brown Derby Fantasmic Dinner Package, I'd tell you to do that in a heartbeat because the Brown Derby food is magnificent.

    Hope this helps.
