Hi my family is traveling to the park in April and staying in property. This is our first time with the magic bands and my husbands and sons first time at the park. What are your top recommendations at Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Mika,

How exciting to be planning your family's first Walt Disney World vacation! You will find that the MagicBands are so convenient! They serve as your room key, park pass, and enable you to check-in for your FastPass+ selections.

Without knowing the age of your son, I will give my top recommendations for the Magic Kingdom, but please do not hesitate to send me a follow-up question with his age and I can customize my suggestions based on that. Magic Kingdom is considered a two day park (at least), meaning that you will want to commit at least two full days to explore and fully immerse yourselves in this park.

First, I highly recommend that you make an early morning Character Dining breakfast reservation at the Crystal Palace. This enables you to enter the Magic Kingdom prior to park opening (depending on what time you reserve). It's always so neat to be one of the first few people on Main Street, USA and your photos with Cinderella Castle in the background will have very few people in them.

You'll want to make FastPass+ plans for three of the four most popular rides: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Simply plan to wait in line for whichever you don't have a FastPass+ reservation. I would head to that ride as soon after park opening as you can, as the lines get longer as the day goes on.

The Happily Ever After Fireworks are a MUST SEE! Be sure to stake out a spot in front of Cinderella Castle at least 30 minutes prior to show time.

I hope this is just the beginning of a lifetime of Disney memories for your family. Again, if I can assist you further, please let me know.

    Wishing you magical memories,

    Kaylene
