My family will be traveling to Disney with my parents (4 adults, 5 yr old and 2 yr old). Any recommendations on a Disney resort? Should my family have our own room and my parents have their own room or should we do a suite?

    Hi Jamie,

My husband, daughter and I have traveled to Walt Disney World resort with my brother, my mother, and my in-laws. Let me share with you some of our favorites places to stay when vacationing with extended family.

When we traveled with my brother, we stayed in the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness resort, which will sleep up to six people. In the living area, there is a pull-down double bed. In the bedroom, there is a double bed and bunk beds. We love this arrangement; however, you need to be comfortable with double beds.

I have also stayed in Disney Vacation Club resorts with extended family. You could stay in an accommodation for five people since your 2-year-old will not count toward your maximum number of people. You could stay in a one-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, as well as certain one-bedroom villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas and Disney's Old Key West Resort. The sleeping arrangements for these is a king bed in the bedroom with a pull-out sofa for two people and a pull-out chair for one person in the living area. Your two-year-old could sleep in a Pack 'n Play. I would also recommend looking at the two-bedroom villas at the Disney Vacation Club resorts. Your family would fit into any of these. We had a two-bedroom villa for a trip with myself, my husband, my in laws, and my mother. My husband, daughter and I slept in one bedroom, my mother slept on the pull-out sofa, and my in-laws had their own bedroom.

A final option would be to look at Disney's Art of Animation Resort or Disney's All-Star Music Resort, each of which have family suites which sleep up to six people.

For any of the above resorts, including the Disney Vacation Club resorts, you can make reservations by calling (407) W-DISNEY (407-934-7639). Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
