My family of three will be traveling to the Disney Parks for 6 nights during early January. What would you recommend for spending money if we already have the quickie dining plan. I'm thinking that we'll buy a few souvenirs and possibly a meal or two.

    Hi, Renee!

Planning ahead is a great way to enjoy your entire visit to Walt Disney World, so getting an estimate of what you may want to spend is a good idea.

Because tastes vary wildly, instead of giving you a dollar amount (which might work for my family, but not for yours), I'm going to give you some information which will help you come to a total which is closer to your own needs.

FIrst: Souvenirs. If you'd like an estimate of what some souvenirs might cost once you get to WDW, then head to Disney Store.com and click on Disney Park Products. While all of the items available in The World won't be listed there, those that ARE listed there show about the same price you'd see in the shops of WDW. You might, for example, want to purchase a Cinderella Castle Play Set (currently $89.95 at Disney Store) or a Disney Parks Authentic Vera Bradley Large Duffel Bag (currently $99)...or, you might want to pick up a Disney's Babies Dumbo Plush Doll ($22.95...and ridiculously adorable...) Check out the rates you see there to get a better understanding of what you might find at the parks.

Next: Meals. I've found great unofficial menu information...including pricing...at AllEars.Net. Just head to that site, hover over the Walt Disney World tab, then click on "Menus" under "Dining". If you know there is a restaurant or two (both Quick Service and Table Service) that you'll likely try, you can see (unofficial) prices of their menu items right there. Even if prices vary by the time you get there, they will remain consistent in regard to each other. If one restaurant's entrees are less expensive than another's now, that will most likely remain the case even if pricing and menu items change.

Send more questions as you think of them, too; we love to help!
