Hello! My family will be taking our first Disney trip this coming fall. My son will be 12 and my daughter 4. I am overwhelmed with the planning process just a bit. What are some must have items I should not forget to bring for our days at the parks? Thank

    Hi Sharon,
I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

Your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort? Cue all the cheering!! I am so excited for you and your family-so much fun is in store for you.

As for items to bring to the parks, my family and I are Annual Passholders and seasoned park visitors. Here's what we keep in our backpacks for our trips: a hat for each person, sunscreen, reusable water bottles, rain jackets or ponchos (you may opt not to bring these if the weather looks good but Central Florida is known for pop-up showers), two snacks for each person (my kids seem to go from fed to starving while standing in line), and a small kit with bandaids, chapstick, body powder or a chafing stick, and hair ties. In our family, each person has a small drawstring backpack and manages their own water bottle, rain jacket and snacks. Your mileage may vary with this practice. Please note that in the fall in Florida, it is not unusual for it to be hot and humid, so stay well hydrated and wear plenty of sunscreen even on cloudy days.

I hope you already have your My Disney Experience account (don't worry, it's free) in place and that you're ready to make your FastPass+ selections prior to your arrival. Advance Dining Reservations may be made 180 days before you arrive; I highly recommend at least one Character Dining experience.

Your trip will be much more enjoyable with just a little planning on your end. Please come back and see us with all of your planning questions for your upcoming trip. We would absolutely love to help.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
