My family is staying M-F but have four days in parks I’m concerned about traveling & visiting a park in the day. The kids will be tired. Any suggestions?

    Hi Vanessa,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Happy times indeed. Planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort brings on the pixie dust and magic!

Like you, I am always concerned about visiting the parks on the day we arrive, but I have since learned that we can do a few hours in the park because everyone is so excited. You know your family best, however. Since we fly, we typically arrive by noon and are at the resort by 2:00 p.m. On occasion, our room is ready, but if it is not, we never have waited long. If we have to wait, we go eat lunch at the resort. Once we can access our room, we unpack.

Once you have checked into your room, you could spend a few hours at the pool and then eat dinner at the resort. Or, you could head to Disney Springs for dinner. The T-Rex restaurant there is awesome but might be a bit much for younger ones. On a prior trip, we had evening Fast Pass+ selections and a dinner reservation for Magic Kingdom on the day we arrived. We visited with Rapunzel and Tiana at Princess Fairytale Hall then headed to Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner. After dinner, we did two Fast Pass+ rides. Just remember that the crowds get hard to navigate as it nears fireworks time. On another trip, we ate dinner at 'Ohana, requested a window table and watched the Happily Ever After fireworks from there, minus the crowds. It was a perfect beginning to the trip!

Vanessa, ultimately, the decision will depend on what time you arrive, how wonderful or rough your journey has been and whether or not your crew is re-energized when you arrive. I will add that we rarely try to go to a park on our departure day. By that time, everyone is exhausted and happy to relax at the resort!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
