Hi, my family and I (spouse, 9, 7 and 3 yr.old M and F-in law) are visiting WDW for the 1st time 7/21-7/28. I want to beat the heat and crowds as best I can. Can you help with an itinerary? Staying off property (6 miles awa) but renting car.

    Hi Emily!

It will be hard to beat the heat and humidity!  The best bet is to leave the theme parks in the afternoon and head for a nice relaxing break at your hotel or at one of the water parks.  Depending on exactly where your offsite hotel is located, six miles might take a little while or it might be easy to get to.  By the way, the water parks at Walt Disney World are spectacular and a great way to cool off on a hot summer day!

With regards to an itinerary, I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  That's the website for the research team behind "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" tour book.  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that will predict the crowd level in a specific park on a specific day.  They have recommendations on what park to visit on a particular day and which parks to avoid!  That will provide you a good framework for your trip!

Then to beat the crowds, I recommend looking at the touring plans on that website.  A touring plan is basically a step by step guide on what order to experience the attractions in.  Their recommendations are based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  As an engineer, I'm a huge fan of their work.  With their touring plans, you will be in good shape for your trip!

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
